Sisters in Zion

Last Saturday, the 16th of November, 2013, I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a "Sister Missionary Meet" at Temple Square in Salt Lake City. There were somewhere around 50 preparing sister missionaries who all gathered at Temple Square to meet each other, find other sisters who were going to their same mission, and simply spend a beautiful afternoon on the grounds. It was beautiful!

We got to sit in the room with the Christus and sing some beautiful songs as sisters in that fantastic room.

Me and Tiff: A potential future companion of mine. She leaves in December and I leave in January, so we could possibly be companions in the Washington Vancouver Mission! She's lovely. :)

This was a wonderful experience, and rare too! I'm so grateful that I got to be a part of it. Being able to meet so many other girls who were all preparing to serve missions just like I am and who have a desire to serve God was truly amazing. I loved this experience! All of these things keep happening that simply make me so much more excited to serve my mission! 61 days left people!

A Taste of my Mission

A couple days ago, on Saturday November 9th, I had the wonderful opportunity to have lunch with a Sister from my mission! Her name is Alexis Thomas.

She had been out for one year and had to come home for a little while to take care of some medical problems. She was only home for about 2 and a half months, and she's heading back out to Vancouver to finish the last 6 months of her mission TOMORROW!!! It was such a cool experience to get to talk to her about being a sister missionary. Not only did I get to hear about that, but we were able to talk about my specific mission and what it is going to be like! Every single thing she said made me so excited to get out there and get working! I only have

  72 days

left until I enter the MTC, my friends! It's coming up super quick! It's crazy to think that right now, while I am focusing on school, my mission is coming closer and closer. By the time I'm done with school, I will have something like 30 days left. This is wonderful. I love this Gospel, and I can not wait to share it!

Also, look who I ran into at the Wyview Creamery? Sweet Sister Katy Armknecht hadn't even been in the MTC for 24 hours when she recognized my shirt and called out to me as I was walking home. How fun is that?? Will I live at Wyview whilst in the MTC? Who knows? AGH! I'm so excited!!!

The Lord's House

Yesterday, October 3rd 2013, I got the amazing opportunity to go through the Mount Timpanogos Temple for the first time. What a beautiful experience it was! I learned so much in the short time I was there, and I grew a whole lot too. There is nothing more firm or true than this Gospel. I have never known anything with an absolute surety except that this Gospel is true! Every word, teaching, doctrine and scripture of this Gospel is real. If you don't know that for yourself, pray about it! Ask our loving Father and He will answer you! The Temple is the literal House of the Lord, and to be given the opportunity to be a guest in His house was a phenomenal blessing that I will never forget. I am so excited and anxious to go again and again, to learn more and to become even closer to God.

My mission is quickly approaching! There are exactly 110 days left until I enter the MTC. I couldn't be more excited! I'd be okay with speeding up time just a touch. ;) I am so grateful for this Gospel and I am so excited to serve the people of Washington! Read your scriptures, pray often, and keep God and His son Jesus Christ in your heart always! I love you all!

The Call

Alright everybody, here it is.

I have been called to serve as a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the....

Washington Vancouver Mission!

I report to the Provo MTC on January 22, 2014, and I am STOKED! It's amazing how the Lord works. Obviously, He knew where I was supposed to be going, and He knew that I needed to know quickly. He also knew that I hate hot weather. ;) He is sending me somewhere cool and rainy. Two of my favorite things! I love knowing that there is someone in Washington that can only be reached by me. Someone I am destined to help. I already love the people of Washington, and I am so eager to get there and teach the Gospel!

It Has Arrived!

My name is Nicole Guilott, and my mission call is here! I just barely had my Stake President interview this past Tuesday and my Stake Pres officially submitted my papers on Thursday. How great is this: My call was ASSIGNED on Friday!!! The day after my papers were submitted! I have been so excited all week long, while also nervous that maybe the speed of things was a mistake and my Bishop was just reading my status wrong. However, today my call arrived in the mail! It was no mistake!

I will be opening my call this evening and I can not wait to find out where it is I will be serving the Lord for the next 18 months! I know that wherever it is the Lord is sending me is exactly where I am supposed to be. I had to post a preface right now, because it's all I've been thinking about all day long and I have to talk about it for a minute. I want to let you know that I know without a shadow of a doubt that this church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is the true church. Jesus Christ atoned for my sins and I know that because of Him and because of my faith, I can return to live with him and my Heavenly Father again someday. I am overjoyed to have the opportunity to serve a mission and bring people to the knowledge of Christ, overall bringing them to happiness. I love this Gospel, and I am so excited to open my call tonight!
